Rachel Kerestes, Executive Director of Science is US, spoke to “The Bottom Line” podcast co-hosts Dana Connors of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and John Williams of Williams Broadcasting about the importance of bolstering Maine’s STEM education and prioritizing science and engineering in public policy decisions. While STEM jobs are the future of the country’s workforce, Maine lags in research and development investment, representing just 1% of GDP compared to 4% regionally.
